Three generations, one cutting table.
From a single room on Via Giuseppe Verdi to a quiet name in Italian outerwear — eighty-five years told in coats.
A workshop in Empoli
Giovanni Cianti opens "Giovanni Cianti & C." on Via Giuseppe Verdi. The first machines arrive secondhand from Florence; the first coats are wartime gabardine raincoats.

A name in rainwear
The Cianti label spreads through the Italian north. Department stores in Milan and Bologna stock the impermeabili. The polo coat enters the pattern book.

Alvaro and Emiliana
Giovanni's son and his wife take over. Leather and shearling are added. The atelier doubles in size; still the same building.

Behind the great houses
With Made in Italy on the rise, the workshop begins to develop, prototype, and produce capo-spalla for some of the most demanding fashion houses in the world.

Giovanni and Antonella
The third generation. The label is quietly maintained alongside the work for couture houses. Production stays slow on purpose.
